Empowering Rural Communities with Compassion & Purpose

Helping Hands Charity Trust is a dedicated National Level development organization committed to serving society with integrity, compassion, and purpose since 2013. Guided by a deep sense of social responsibility, the Trust works tirelessly to uplift rural communities and enhance the quality of life for the underserved.

Its core vision is to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and promote sustainable, inclusive development. Helping Hands Charity Trust provides holistic support services that transform the lives of rural poor — especially homeless individuals, senior citizens, women, children, rural artisans, fisherfolk, farmers, and other marginalized groups.

Established by a team of visionary leaders and social reformers, Helping Hands Charity Trust is driven by a shared mission to create lasting social impact. With the support of skilled professionals and committed volunteers, it designs and implements meaningful programs that deliver measurable change. Every initiative is rooted in compassion and guided by the belief that every individual possesses the potential to overcome adversity and thrive.

Ongoing Projects

Helping Hands Charity Trust – Previous & Ongoing Projects

Helping Hands Charity Trust, a registered public charitable organization under the Indian Trust Act since 2016, has been consistently working to support vulnerable and marginalized communities. For over six years, we have been operating Homes for the Homeless and Senior Citizens, providing shelter, care, and dignity to those in need.

In partnership with the Municipal Corporations of Delhi, Thoothukudi, Rameswaram, Thanjavur, and Kanchipuram, we have successfully implemented the SMILE Project — a central government initiative that has contributed significantly to establishing Tamil Nadu as a model state for inclusive urban development.

Since 2021, Helping Hands Charity Trust has been implementing a Home for the Homeless project in collaboration with the Corporations, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. This initiative addresses the shelter needs of destitute and at-risk individuals, including:

  • Daily wage earners and nighttime labourers
  • Abandoned elderly and the sick
  • Beggars and individuals ostracized by families
  • Women and children in distress
  • People released after serving sentences for minor offences

These individuals are often found sleeping on pavements, in bus and railway stations, in front of closed shops, under bridges, and near religious premises—anywhere they can find temporary rest. Our shelters provide safe accommodation, nutritious food, hygiene, and recreational facilities, creating a space of dignity and care.

Comprehensive Care Model Includes:
  • Survey and identification of the homeless
  • Rescue operations and emergency response
  • Psychosocial counselling and emotional support
  • Primary medical care and referrals
  • Vocational training and life skills development
  • Rehabilitation and reintegration into society
